More than Conquerors

“No, in ALL these things, we are more than conquerors through him who LOVED us.”

Yes, that verse randomly popped in my head during the middle of the night. Well, maybe not randomly. I was praying at the time while desperately trying to get back to sleep.

The next morning I looked up the passage in Romans 8:35-39.

More than conquerors in all these things. What are all these things?

Trouble

Calamity

Persecution

Hunger

Destitution

Danger

Threats of Death

That’s quite a list from Paul. Most of which we have never faced.

He even asks the question: “Does it mean God no longer loves us if we face these things?”

No! He says we are more than conquerors. Why?

We exceedingly conquer, prevail mightily, and are completely and overwhelmingly victorious because of Jesus’ love for us.

This love is an agape love.

Unconditional

Unrestricted

Unrestrained

Sacrificial

Endless

Everlasting

Eternal

Nothing can separate us from the unfailing love of God.

Not death or life

Nor angels or demons

Neither fears for today

Nor worries for tomorrow

No Powers of hell, in the sky or on earth Nothing in all creation

Will ever be able to separate its from the love God revealed in Christ Jesus.

God loves you in every moment and every mess up with a deep, abiding, embracing and unending love.

Take a minute to let that truth sink deep into your soul.
