How to Change your Mindset

Distressed

Distracted

Discouraged

Disillusioned

Dissatisfied

Disturbed

Discontent

Disbelieving

Disgruntled

Do any of these words describe how you feel right now?

Dis in Latin literally means "apart." The enemy tries to move us apart from God...DIStance us... from His Word, His Truth, His Love. He does that by planting seeds of distress, distraction, discouragement, etc. in our minds.

The antonym, the opposite, for Dis is "to extol or praise."

The antidote that counteracts the dis's in our life is to praise God. Praise changes our mindset.

It changes our focus from the things of this world, to the things of the Spirit which lead to life and peace.

Lord, you are my God;

I will exalt you and praise your name,

for in perfect faithfulness

you have done wonderful things,

things planned long ago.

Isaiah 25:1

The Lord is my strength and my shield;

my heart trusts in him, and he helps me.

My heart leaps for joy,

and with my song I praise him.

Psalm 28:7

That's how we fight our battles. That's how we change our mindset.

Praise.

"Let all that I am praise the Lord;

with my whole heart, I will praise his holy name."

Psalm 103:1
