Are you weary? Weighed down?

Are you weary? Weighed down? For most of us, the last seven months have us feeling both weary and weighed down at times. From the unprecedented, upheaval, unrest, and uncertainty of this most unusual year. Top that with ALL. THE. OTHER. THINGS. It can all begin to feel like too much.

The Lord met me this morning right in this place. In a place of heaviness for all. the. things. For friends and family going through really difficult situations. For our country… for which I honestly have no words.

God’s voice rang out in the pages of the Psalms.

“The Lord lifts up those who are weighed down.” (Psalm 146:8 NLT)

“The Lord lifts those bent beneath their loads.” (Psalm 145:14 NLT)

Lift up means comfort. God’s word brings comfort… and hope and life.

“The eyes of all look to you in hope;

you give them their food as they need it.

When you open your hand,

you satisfy the hunger and thirst of every living thing.

The Lord is righteous in everything he does;

he is filled with kindness.

The Lord is close to all who call on him,

yes, to all who call on him in truth.

He grants the desires of those who fear him;

he hears their cries for help and rescues them.

The Lord protects all those who love him,

but he destroys the wicked.

I will praise the Lord,

and may everyone on earth bless his holy name

forever and ever.” (Psalm 145:15-21 NLT)

Draw near to the Lord. Call on Him when you are weary and weighed down. Open His word and let His voice speak to your thirsty soul. He will lift you up.
