3 T's to Tackle Discouragement

Days can be hard.

When it feels like the waves continue to roll over and over and beat me up a bit, it is easy to become discouraged and doubtful.

That’s where I have been lately.

But, God in His goodness continues to remind me of His word and His faithfulness.

Psalm 16:8 says to set the Lord always before me; because He is at my right hand, I will not be shaken.

Here are 3 simple practices that God has given me to do just that.

To set the Lord before me, so that I won’t be shaken when another wave rolls in. I will be firmly anchored in the truth.

And, it will help me to tackle discouragement and doubt.

“If he did it before, He will do it again.”*

“I remember the days of long ago: I mediate on all your works and consider what your hands have done.”

Psalm 143:5 NIV

Even in the middle of difficult circumstances, give thanks.

Research has shown gratitude boosts our brains, bodies, and bliss.

“Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.“ 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 NIV

He is faithful to keep his promises.

“Let us hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm, for God can be trusted to keep his promise.”

Hebrews 10:23 NLT

I am going to give it a try every day or anytime I feel discouragement creep in.

I hope you will try it and be encouraged, too.
